The Maybes and the Real Stuff
If you want speculations about who is going to what team or who should go to what team and what might happen if this player is traded or that one is drafted, I am generally not your guy, at least for right now. Except that I might do this on occasion for superstars such as Anthony, Iverson, and Camby.
Most of the time, I like to report on the real situation in the here and now, so I give you the most complete game reports available. I can almost always tell you why and how what happened in a game happened, and who is responsible for what in a game. Of course, the here and now includes off-season stuff that actually happens, such as the upcoming draft, and I will report and comment on those things. And I do like to predict the outcome of games and series in advance, but you will not very often find me predicting how good a franchise might be if they make this or that move.
For example, I have seen prognosticators talking about Oden and Durant going to the Pacific Northwest. Yeah, I know Portland and Seattle are going to be better after this draft, but predicting they are a lock for the playoffs within a couple of years is a stretch. After all, the Nuggets are not a lock for the playoffs with Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson!
I report and comment mostly on all things that have actually happened, and generally stay away from talking about the maybes.
